1. RE: why it should be realistic?

"i think that the show shouldn't be too realistic.I like the way they deal with the patients and come up with new treatments."I personally agree with you. Shows that I have watched in the past, that have tried to take a realistic look at mental health issues, in the end tend to feed the negative stigma of society towards those with mental health issues. I even asked my Mental Health Therapist what she thought of the show, she loves it. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"i think that the show shouldn't be too realistic.I like the way they deal with the patients and come up with new treatments."I agree! Was the Dick VanDyke Show realistic about the Advertising Industry? Mary Tyler Moore Show about News Agencies? O.K., those were comedies, and old (and not controvercial because they were old). IS Warehouse 13 realistic about the U.S. Government and a fictional (repeat fictional) skunk-works? How about a look at Bones with forensics ... people who want more realism can watch CSI ... and its not totally accurate either. Its fast, fun and engrossing. And for the purpose it was meant to serve, entertainment, it is very good. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Great comment, but the ombudsman in me wants to point out The Dick Van Dyke Show focused on Rob Petrie writing for the Allen Brady Show (a fictional skit comedy show). Bewitch was a show that had a lead character (Darren Stevens) working for an advertising agency. Mary Tyler Moore played Mary Richards who was a producer for the 6:00 news at a local Minnesota station.
