I enjoyed it. I really believed the first minutes in the episode. I wasn't totally convinced with the story but i like it. I'll miss Warren Kole who plays Dr.Rylan Moore, He is great.

I agree with Peri. I think Dr. Moore will return ... especially if/when Veronica turns out to be pregnant (also suggested by Peri in another discussion)

"Some seem to be indicating that they believe that the idea of past lives was a flaw with the episode, My take was that the writer was saying Jack did NOT buy the past lives theory, and was just using the principal in the treatnent of Billy because Billy needed to believe... I don't believe the intent was to suggest the event was really Billy's past life, just that he needed to believe it was real. Did this get by others who saw the episode? Did I invent something that wasn't there?" You got it right on the mark! Jack comes right out at the end, when asked if he beleives in reincarnation by responding that he doesn't, but what mattered wasn't what HE believed, but what BILLY did. But they never DID explore how Billy got the information ... clever plot ploy! Leaves the "little bit of possibly creepy" in there! *grin* As to the question "Did I invent something that wasn't there?" ... I love your irony there! EXCELLENT! LoL!

I think the show is really finding it's stride. Every episode has been better than the last. All House fans need to give Mental a try.

I agree, Jill! Though I don't think the thread was left hanging badly, it was left hanging (not even Jack can have a 100% 1st time success-rate ... and they'd implied that this was not the first such attempt at treatment). It was very interesting and CERTAINLY was a surprise thread to the story! I find that two cases presented in a given episode tend to have some relation to each other ... I'm still working this one out!

I actually saw this episode first (and played quick catch-up watching the others online!), and was very impressed. Carradine's acting was supurb, and the premise was both believable and fascinating. The treatment method was ... novel (if not quite reality) and entertaining. It was a bit of a knock-off of Confrontational Therapy (if the patient is terrified of snakes, put them with snakes ... rubber to real) until they are desensitized, etc.). In this case, forcing the patient to confront and deal with his feelings of guilt in his wife's death (and the hit to his own super-ego in the process) was enlightened! And there WERE a lot of Freudian elements here. Naturally it would take WAY longer in a reality-setting to help someone manage such a loss to (an of) self, but for a situational episode, it was excellent! As for being offended ... not at ALL! It was perfectly appropriate and showcased Carradine's talents well.
